Description

Victory at Agincourt was won on 25 October 1415. Around 6,000 men from the French and 600 English died that day.

On 16 November, Henry, with a large retinue and many noble prisoners, left Calais for London.

Along the whole route from Dover to London, he was received with the wildest enthusiasm. People gathered in from the country, and lined all along the main road to cheer as he passed. There is a tradition that there was a Thanksgiving service held in Dartford Church, at which King Henry and his retinue attended.
