I created this work specifically to raise funds to help Dartford and Crayford Sea Cadets maintain their unit at Brooklands Lake, Dartford. The unit has been in existence since 1942. Since then it has trained thousands of cadets, many have gone on to join the Royal Navy. They are a registered charity and get no financial help from Government towards running costs. They may soon have to sink below the waves unless they get help now.
The painting is of the boatyard at the back of their unit, which is known as ‘TS Anson’. The facility is located on the edge of the beautiful Brooklands Lake in Dartford and is attended by many enthusiastic cadets.
The original artwork was sold through auction. All profits from the sale donated to the Sea Cadets.
