Cumbria

A painting in the Lake District, inspired by a photograph on the front cover of a book by Beth & Steve Pipe – Historic Cumbria: Off The Beaten Track.

Creating atmosphere with texture in my work is important. This is a piece I created using encaustic paint, keeping the rough texture throughout the process. I hope this has captured the atmosphere encountered in many parts of Cumbria. The area shown here forms part of the Borrowdale Valley, south of Keswick.
